Records Galore

The new edition of Australian All-Schools competition produced record galore for our club. The competition was held in Melbourne (Box Hill) and our contingent included athletes from all three age groups: U14s, U16s and U18s. The new format made it harder not only to make the team but also there were less medals on offer as two age groups were combined in one.

Night of Miles at Bankstown

 

Bankstown Sports Senior Athletic Club is inviting any of our athletes who would like to attend our Night of Miles races on 7thDecember2010 starting at 6.30pm  at the Crest Athletics Field McClean St Bass Hill.

 

There are also sprints and field events. Full program can be find here. There is prize money for each event  and $100.00 extra for any athlete who creates a one new mile record.

State Relays 2010

State Relays are to be held on 20th and 21st November at Homebush. Competition is conducted in the Under 14, Under 16, Under 18 Under 20, Open and Masters categories. All other age groups are determined by age of the athlete on the 31 December 2010. We need more athletes for this competition, we are especially short on sprinters.

State Relays 2010 - Report

Over the past weekend our club participated in NSW State Relays. We entered initially 12 teams but had to scratch two. First one to go was Open Women 4x200m team when Rachel Hardy injured herself in training just day before competition. Second one was Under 16 Girls 4x1500m because of issues related to dual registration with Little Athletics. Remaining ten teams won six medals. The highlight was victory by Under 14 Girls in 4x800m event. The setback was lack of any sprinting team.

Commonwealth Games Results

After a lot of negative coverage by world-wide media, Commonwealth Games in Delhi finally finished. In the end it wasn't so bad. Australian athletic team performed very well despite the absence of few big guns namely Dani Samuels, Mitch Watt, Ryan Gregson and Jeff Riseley. Randwick Botany athletes Jeremy Roff and Jeff Hunt proudly represented Australia and our club.
