    Completing a sensational weekend of road running, Brigid Kosgei broke the world record* at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday (13), winning the IAAF Gold Label road race in 2:14

    World leader Sheila Chepkirui lived up to her billing as race favourite for the FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN on Sunday (13), taking four seconds off the African all-comers’ record to win the IAAF Bronze Label road race in 30:55.
  • Mamu and Murigi triumph at Smarna Gora, Douglas and McCormack secure WMRA World Cup victories
    Petro Mamu of Eritrea and Kenyan Lucy Murigi won the 40th Smarna Gora Mountain Running Race, the final event of the 2019 WMRA World Cup season, near the Slovenian capital Ljubljana on Saturday (12).

    Eliud Kipchoge produced the fastest time ever for the 42.2km distance, clocking 1:59:40 at the Ineos159 Challenge in Vienna on Saturday (12).

    RBH at Commonwealth Games

    Randwick Botany Harriers runners Jeremy Roff and Jeffrey Hunt are about to compete at Commonwealth Games in Delhi. Jeremy will start in very competitive 1500m event while Jeff starts in his second ever marathon. Start lists are not yet available but our boys can expect strong African contingent in both events. 1500m field will include Olympic silver medalist Nick Willis and this season sensation from Kenya, Silas Kiplagat.

    Lachlan Little Breaks U16 Record

    15 years old Lachlan Little broke club's U16 record in long jump. Competing at Greater Public School championships at ES Marks, Lachlan achieved fantastic 6.35m to surpass club's U16 record of 6.29m record dating back from 1989. The magnitude of his achievement was even bigger considering that Lachlan, representing his Newington College, broke GPS 50 years old record of Bob Perrett, who represented Sydney Grammar at the time. This achievement was reported in "The Fitz Files" sport column of Sydney Morning Herald.

    2 miler handicap to be held on Sep 11

    Traditionally the last club race of the winter season, 2 miles handicap race is opportunity for runner of any ability to win prestigious Hargenhan trophy. This is a road race where runners start at different times. This start time is estimated from runners recent performance with an idea that all runners finish at the same time. This is what makes this race very unpredictable and exciting. It can be won by fastest or slowest runner. In 2007 the winner was then under 10 boy Daniel Hazan (pictured left).

    Kate Arnol won 2 miles at Tempe Reserve

    Traditional race that marks the end of club's winter season, 2 miles handicap proved again that everyone has chance to win it. Of course you have to show guts and determination to win this prestigious trophy. And that is exactly what the youngest runner in the field did.
