    Christian Coleman sped to a world indoor record* of 6.34 to win the 60m on the third and final day of the US Indoor Championships in Albuquerque on Sunday (18).
  • Kipyokei sets Mexican all-comers’ record at Guadalajara Half Marathon
    Kenya’s Diana Chemtai Kipyokei established a Mexican all-comers’ record of 1:10:00 to win the 32rd Guadalajara Half Marathon, while John Nwangangi took the men’s title at the IAAF Bronze Label Road Race on Sunday (18).
  • Klosterhalfen breaks German indoor 3000m record – national indoor championships round-up
    Despite being a country whose success traditionally comes in the field events, it was the track events that provided the highlights at the German Indoor Championships in Dortmund on Saturday and Sunday (17-18).
  • Philip, Muir and Pozzi among the winners at British Indoor Championships
    Competing on the same track that will host the IAAF World Indoor Championships Birmingham 2018 in two weeks’ time, European indoor champions Asha Philip, Laura Muir and Andrew Pozzi took victories at the two-day British Indoor Championships, which concluded on Sunday (18).

    Soufiane El Bakkali and Salomé Rocha lived up to expectations at the Almond Blossom Cross Country, winning the senior races at the IAAF Cross Country Permit Meeting in Albufeira on Sunday (18).

    NSW Junior Championships, Homebush 13 & 14th Feb

    Steven Solomon winning State U18 400m Over the past couple of days young guns from our club were chasing state titles at Homebush. The competition incorporated U14, U16, U18 and U20 divisions. As expected we had number of athletes in middle distance events but we also showed strength in sprints, couple of field events and also walks.

    Breaking news from Beppu-Oita Marathon

    In his debut marathon Jeff Hunt runs a blinder. He came third and clocked 2:11:00. This time is an A-Commonwealth Games qualifier, NSW record (previously held by Danny Boltz with 2:11:10) and new club record (previously held by John Stanley with 2:17:04).
    The second Australian representative, Martin Dent, clocked 2:13:27 which is a personal best time.

    Hunter Track Classic, Newcastle, 6th Feb

    Sean Williams reports from Hunter Track Classic held in Newcastle on Saturday


    Scott Westcott did a marvellous job as meet director. The music was pumping, the commentator was on the ball, the new track looked great and 2000 track fans were very vocal as many of Australia's best athlete's took to centre stage.

    State Club Championships

    Randwick Botany Harriers men came 6th at Club Championships while women team, although incomplete, finished 9th. As expected, strong performances came from distance guys, namely first two places in 3000m but icing on the cake was win in 4x400m relays.
