    Greek teenager Emmanouil Karalis finished fifth in the pole vault at the IAAF World Indoor Championships Birmingham 2018 earlier this year, clearing 5.80m – a height only one other U20 athlete in history has ever bettered.
  • Czech athletics official and author Trkal dies
    The IAAF is deeply saddened to hear that Viktor Trkal, a well-known athletics official, author, judge and coach in the Czech Republic, died on Sunday (11) at the age of 89.
  • High and low – Claire Tallent
    Claire Tallent was shown the red card in two of the biggest races of her career, but the Australian race walker rebounded from those disappointments to take bronze on her 50km debut at the IAAF World Race Walking Team Championships Taicang 2018.
  • Kiplimo and Teferi reign at Atapuerca as IAAF Cross Country Permit kicks off in Burgos
    Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo and Ethiopia’s Senberi Teferi were victorious at the 15th ‘Cross Internacional de Atapuerca’, the opening race of the 2018-19 IAAF Cross Country Permit series held in windy conditions on Sunday (11) in Burgos, Spain.
  • Town of Runners takes the top prize at FICA
    Town of Runners, the 2012 documentary directed by Jerry Rothwell about young runners from the Ethiopian rural town of Bekoji, took the top prize – an impressive golden Achilles trophy – at the International Athletics Film Festival (FICA) in San Sebastian, Spain, on Saturday (10).

    Presentation Night

    The presentation night is on the second floor of the Doncaster Hotel, 268 Anzac Pde Kensington at 7.30pm on Thursday 26 November. The presentation recognizes our Outstanding Achievement*, Hergenhan, Curotta and Distance trophies along with record-breakers, Master's Achievement and International Achievement awards. This is always a fun social occasion and the awards ceremony is just a bonus!

    State Relays 2015 - Report

    This year State Relays were held at Blacktown International Sport Park. Our club entered 7 teams initially but had to scratch U18 girls 4x100m. The remaining 6 teams performed above expectation and produced medal tally of 1 gold and 4 silver medals.

    Maroubra Fun Run 2015

     

    Maroubra Fun Run this year is going to be held on 25th October. We invite all club members to participate at this popular local fun run.

    There are few races on offer, 8k, 4k, 4k walk and also 4k wheelchair. There are a multitude of trophies and prizes to be won on the day.

    State Relays 2015

    State Relays this year will be held at Blacktown International Sportpark at Rooty Hill on 14th and 15th November. Our club participate every year in this significant competition which is expected to attract more than 700 teams. Please note that club will pay entry fee for every team and all you have to do is show up in your club uniform with your reggo bib and compete well.

    Junior Star On The Rise

    At recent Commonwealth Youth Games at Samoa, Amy Harding-Delooze claimed golden double at 800m at 1500m distances.
    In doing so Amy not only achieved personal best times at both distances (2:06.84 and 4:18.02) but also claimed club's U18 and U20 1500m record and club U18 800m record. The report below is written by Amy and it is a great insight on her experience and how she reacted to different race tactics.
