  • Okagbare breaks Games record en route to Commonwealth 100m title
    Jamaica won two gold medals at the second night of athletics at the Commonwealth Games on Monday (28). True to the nation’s sprint heritage, one came in the men’s 100m, but the other came from the shot circle. There were also gold medals for Nigeria and Canada on another record-breaking evening at Hampden Park.

    The IAAF is deeply saddened to learn that US 400m runner Torrin Lawrence died in a car crash on Monday (28) at the age of 25.

    More than a 100 competitors at the IAAF World Junior Championships, Oregon 2014, took advantage of the IAAF Media Training workshop ‘Making The Most Of My Athletics Career’ staged in Eugene over the last three days of the Championships.
  • Expectations were exceeded, say organisers of IAAF World Junior Championships, Oregon 2014
    Vin Lananna, president of local organisers TrackTown USA, told reporters that the IAAF World Junior Championships, Oregon 2014 “exceeded expectations” after the final medal ceremonies were completed at Hayward Field.

    NSW Road Relays - Report

    Our club didn't enter many teams for State Road Relay Championships but those competing on the day performed brilliantly. This competition was held only 6 days after Gold Coast Marathon which didn't help. Also few good runners opted to run 10k fun run the following day instead of competing for the club and that was disappointing. We entered 5 teams only but the medal tally for the day was more than impressive: 3 gold and 1 silver medal.

    NSW Road Relays - Final Teams

    State Road Relays are to be held at Ourimbah (The University of Newcastle Central Coast Campus) on Saturday 12th July. We are calling all available runners to participate in this important event. It is fun event that caters for all age groups with teams comprising of 4 runners competing over distances of 4 x 2km and 4 x 4km.

    State Relays 2014

     

    State relays are to be held at Miranda Park on Saturday 31st May. Traditionally our club participate at this competition and even dominate some events. Every year we try to put the best possible teams in every age group.

    Rockdale Fun Run

    The Albie Thomas Rockdale Fun Run takes place on Sunday 25 May at the Peter Depena Reserve Dolls Point.

    The Rockdale Fun Run has been renamed The Albie Thomas Rockdale Fun Run in memory of our most famous athlete Albie Thomas OAM who passed away late last year.
