Interesting facts:

I started running at South Eastern Little Athletics in the u/7s. I did some training under Anne Saville and competed in the walks. At age eleven I became a member of Sean Williams’ group (there were about half a dozen of us then). I made my first international event at age twelve for the Trans Tasman in Sydney. The first time I made State Little Athletics was when I was twelve and I placed 5th in the 1500m. The following year I won the 3km with a time of 10.59 and a big gap to the second placegetter. At the same State Titles I backed up for the 1500m and finished second to Alicia Keir. Over the following 3 years I have made big improvements, cutting my 3km time down by nearly a minute. In 2006 I placed 3rd in the State All Schools cross country and the following year I won my age group beating Hollie Emery. In 2007 I placed 3rd in the National cross country titles at Perth. This year has been my strongest year in cross country and I hope there is still improvement in me for both cross country and track. I prefer cross country over track any day. I was selected this year to run in world mountain running titles in Switzerland in September. I ran to the best of the ability even though I fell over a few times and helped Australia win a team gold medal. This was a learning experience for me and I hope to make more of these world events.
Running has been a family involvement with my older sister Alexis (by 14 months) ranked in the top 5 in Australia in the U/20s 1500m and 3000m as well as highly ranked in the 2km steeple. My mother Tess is a City to Surf winner (1973) as well as an Australian rep in the marathon (1979 and 1981) and my father competed for Randwick Botany Harriers on road and cross country.
